Terms of Use

Last updated October 20, 2026

The agreement between you and Crux when you use cruxlearn.app. Please read it; by signing in you agree to it.

Who we are

Crux ("Crux", "we", "us") is operated by DByrd, an individual based in Alabama, United States. Crux turns YouTube videos, articles and text you give it into study cards that teach the main points, and schedules short reviews so you remember them.

Questions about these terms: support@cruxlearn.app.

Who can use Crux

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Crux only with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms.

You sign in with a Whop account, and your use of Whop is also governed by Whop’s own terms. During the beta, Crux is invitation-only: access depends on holding the Crux Beta membership on Whop, and we may end the beta, change it or limit access at any time.

What you add to Crux

You keep whatever rights you have in the links and text you add, and in the cards made from them. You give us permission to fetch, store and process that material only as needed to run Crux for you — for example, to fetch an article or a video’s captions, send the text to our AI provider to write and check your cards, and store your cards and review history.

Only add material you are allowed to use. Do not add other people’s private or confidential information, passwords, payment details or health information. Your cards are for your own study; do not use Crux to republish or redistribute other people’s copyrighted work.

AI-written cards

Crux uses AI to write and check cards. Cards can be incomplete or wrong, and they cover the main points of a source, not every detail. They are a study aid, not a substitute for the source, professional advice or your own judgement. We do not promise any particular test score or result.

Plans, credits and limits

Crux measures use in credits: one credit per started 60 KB of source text (roughly an hour of video or about 10,000 words), up to a per-source maximum. Your plan’s allowance, its renewal window and any daily limits are shown in Crux. Unused credits do not roll over.

A job that fails before Crux starts writing cards does not use a credit, and a job that fails after that uses at most one. We may change allowances, prices or limits; we will tell you before a change to a paid plan takes effect, and it applies from your next billing period.

Payments

Paid plans are sold and billed through Whop, which acts as the merchant of record: your payment, taxes and receipts are handled by Whop under Whop’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel at any time in Whop. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • try to access another person’s account or data, or get around sign-in, limits or credits;
  • use Crux to process unlawful content or content you have no right to use;
  • overload, scrape, probe or disrupt Crux, or use automated means to create accounts or jobs;
  • resell Crux or use it to build a competing service.

Messages from us

We send you messages about your account inside Crux. We will email you only if you choose to turn on email reminders or contact us first, and every reminder email will let you turn reminders off.

Ending your use

You can stop using Crux at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@cruxlearn.app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your Whop access ends, or if we stop offering Crux. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example, disclaimers and limits of liability) survive.

Disclaimers

Crux is provided “as is” and “as available”, and during the beta it may change, break or lose features. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Crux is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Crux in the 12 months before the claim and US $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally. Either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court; otherwise, disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Madison County, Alabama, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in Crux before they take effect. If you keep using Crux after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
